Rugby’s greatest prize is visiting ERTS fordshire!
Wednesday 19th August rugby’s greatest prize, the Webb Ellis Cup, will visit Hertfordshire during the Rugby World Cup Trophy Tour.
Launching on June 10, 100 days to go to the opening match, the Rugby World Cup Trophy Tour will travel through Scotland, Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, Wales and England before arriving at Twickenham Stadium on September 18 ahead of the Opening Ceremony.
Haileybury College is the first venue which as they are a RWC15 Team Base hosting both The Argentina and USA teams during the Rugby World Cup they will be having a photo session mid-morning. The Trophy will then move down the road to Hertford RFC where plans are being put together to welcome all ages through to 1.00pm. It then moves to Bishop’s Stortford RFC for the full afternoon and early evening. At this event a Rugby Family Fun Day which will include free Rugby Coaching for Children, Tag & Touch rugby competitions, a mass participation World Record attempt and a re-showing of the magnificent 2003 Rugby World Cup final!
